HaloSource® was founded in 1998 by Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Jeffrey F. Williams, PhD, to develop applications that would meet the fast-growing demand for clean technologies in the areas of point-of-use water disinfection and antimicrobial coatings. At the time, he was professor of microbiology at Michigan State University. In 2002, HaloSource Corp. merged with Vanson, Inc., to expand opportunities by combining intellectual property platforms, manufacturing facilities and distribution channels. The merged company, Vanson HaloSource, subsequently began doing business as HaloSource in 2006.
